Lenox: Berkshire Lyric to perform Irish-themed concerts

Posted

Berkshire Lyric is presenting "Kick The Winter Blues, Ireland in Song" at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19, and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at the Lenox Town Hall auditorium.

The two identical concerts will feature well known and traditional standards from Ireland.

The Berkshire Lyric Chorus, the Blafield Children's Chorus and Higher Level will be joined by guest instrumentalists and vocal soloists John Demler and Steve Hasmer and will be led by Berkshire Lyric Artistic Director Jack Brown and accompanied by Joe Rose.

Music will include "That's an Irish Lullaby," "The Belle of Belfast," "The Wearin' of the Green," and others. The concerts will close with an eight part a cappella arrangement of "Danny Boy," followed by an audience sing-a-long.

Tickets can be purchased from chorus members or through www.BerkshireLyricInfo.org. Tickets are $20 with children admitted free. A reception will follow each concert.

The annual Kick the Winter Blues concerts support the educational efforts of Berkshire Lyric.
