Lenox: Berkshire Sanctuaries sponsor bird banding demonstration

A bird banding demonstration, sponsored by Berkshire Sanctuaries, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, 472 West Mountain Road. The program is suitable for children ages 3 to 18.

Christyna Laubach, a sanctuary volunteer and science teacher, along with volunteers, will demonstrate the proper use of mist nets and band the birds that are captured. Participants will help gather data and release the birds unharmed.

The program is free for Mass Audubon members/$3 for non-members.
