Lenox: Botanist to lead fern foray

Botanist Joe Strauch will lead a fern foray from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 12, at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary.

Strauch is the author of "Wildflowers of the Berkshire and Taconic Hills" and former executive director of the Berkshire Botanical Garden.

Some 25 species can be found in a variety of habitats at Pleasant Valley. Participants will also explore the revitalized "fernery" established in the 1930s.

The fee is $12 for adult members, $15 for non-members, and includes a fern finder booklet.
