Lenox: Cranwell School Class of 1966 celebrates 50th reunion
LENOX >> Members of the Cranwell School Class of 1966 celebrated their 50th anniversary the weekend of June 18 and 19 at Cranwell Resort.
Now a luxury spa and golf resort, Cranwell was a Jesuit prep school for boys from 1939-1975. At its peak in the 1960s, the school enrolled over 250 boys in grades 9-12.
The Class of 1966 graduated with 67 seniors. Over half of the class attended the reunion, coming from as far away as Washington state, Arizona and Florida, and as near as Pittsfield.
All but a handful of the scattered alumni were located. Nine classmates are deceased and others were unable to attend.
The weekend included a dinner in the Cranwell Mansion on Saturday and many attended Sunday's Brian Wilson concert at Tanglewood, which commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Beach Boys album, "Pet Sounds."
The classmates shared stories about their experiences at Cranwell School, which will be published in a class reunion booklet to be shared among all classmates.
