Lenox: Decorative arts curator to speak

Ulysses Grant Dietz, curator of decorative arts at Newark (N.J.) Museum, will present "Elegance and Aspiration: Money, Taste and Jewelry in America's Gilded Age" at a Tea & Talk at Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum, 104 Walker St., at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.

His talk concludes the museum's summer 2017 series of Tea & Talks.

Dietz will look at the meteoric rise of jewelry wearing in the period after the Civil War triggered by unprecedented wealth in an industrialized America.

Cost is $26 for advance reservations and $32 day of the event. Reservations are highly recommended as seating is limited.
