Lenox: Gilder to lecture at Ventfort Hall

Architectural and social historian Cornelia Brooke Gilder will present a Tea & Talk on "Past Private Gateposts: Up Winding Drives of Historic Berkshire Houses" at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Ventfort Hall Mansion & Gilded Age Museum, 104 Walker St. A Victorian tea will follow.

Gilder, co-author of "Houses of the Berkshires" and "Hawthorne's Lenox" and a member of Ventfort Hall's program committee, will give a virtual tour of these elegant Gilded Age places, focusing as well on the big houses at the far end of the driveways and the stories of the fascinating families who built them.

Tickets for the Tea & Talk are $24 for advance reservations and $29 day of the event. Reservations are highly recommended as seating is limited.
