Lenox: Jewish Theological Seminary to present debates in Judaism

Congregation Knesset Israel, in cooperation with the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires, will present esteemed scholars from the Jewish Theological Seminary who will explore debates that lie at the heart of Judaism’s belief, behavior and practice.

The programs will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Fridays, July 11 and 25, Aug. 8 and 22, at The Elayne Bernstein Theater of Shakespeare and Company, 70 Kemble St.

The programs are "Speaking Truth to Power" with Dr. Amy Kalmanofsky on July 11; "The War over Spirituality" with Rabbi David Hoffman on July 25; "Who Speaks for Judaism" with Dr. Marjorie Lehman on Aug. 8; and "Assimilation or Independence," with Rabbi Eliezer Diamond on Aug. 22.

Each of the sessions is $25 at the door or in advance.
