Lenox: Maimonides Society to hold inaugural event


The newly formed Maimonides Society of the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires will host a kick-off dessert reception at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Hampton Inns & Suites, 445 Pittsfield Road.

Chairperson Dr. Stuart Masters noted the Society as a "fellowship of Jewish healthcare professionals dedicated to educational, social, and philanthropic activities that focus on the betterment of Jews in need locally, in Israel, and around the world."

Masters, joined by members Drs. Larry Bronstein, Jeff Leppo, and Dan Patel, noted that the Society’s events will present an array of diverse speakers and programs.

The initial gathering will feature Dr. Mark Pettus, director of Medical Education, Wellness, and Population Health for Berkshire Health Systems and the author of "The Savvy Patient: The Ultimate Advocate For Quality Health Care" and "It’s All in Your Head: Change Your Mind, Change Your Health, and Change Your Life."
