Lenox: Pignatelli to present Caroling Festival awards

State Rep. William "Smitty" Pignatelli will present the trophy and cash prizes to winners of the second Lenox Caroling Festival in ceremonies beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, in Studio 3 at Shakespeare & Co.'s Bernstein Performing Arts Center.

Pignatelli will tender a cash prize of $2,000 to the ensemble winning first place, and in addition, present a new perpetual trophy that will be inscribed with the name of the victorious chorus. The trophy was created by sculptor Andrew DeVries.

Second and third place groups will receive prizes of $500 and $250, respectively, in the ceremonies, which will include performances by the eight ensembles competing in the festival, along with caroling by all those in attendance.

On Saturday, each chorus will perform in 20-minute sessions from 11 a.m. until 12:50, and from 2 until 3:50 p.m. at five locations in Lenox Village.

The sites include Alta and Mary Stuart Collections on Church Street, Casablanca on Housatonic Street, Evviva on Walker Street, and Nejaime's Wine & Liquor Shop on Main Street.
