Letter: Bailly will watch out for Great Barrington taxpayers

Elect Bailly to protect Barrington taxpayers

To the editor:

If you live in a town next to Great Barrington you have to love the Great Barrington Select Board, School Committee and Finance Committee, as the majority of these board members have gone the extra mile and given away the extra dollars to help you out. However if you live, pay taxes, do business or just try to survive in Great Barrington it is important to keep Dan Bailly in office. He was the Only Selectman asking the important questions and making challenges on the town and school budgets. He was looking out for us.

Times are tough and will get tougher, so more than ever we need someone to sit at the table and stand up for the citizens of Great Barrington. A good reason to support Dan Bailly.

Also remind our elected town officials that a gas tax is a bad idea. The town, like all other parts of government, has a spending problem, not a money problem. Sharing services and merging the six school districts south of Pittsfield are great ways to start. Talk to Sheffield especially, since it has a four day work week. If it can get things done in four days it is proof Great Barrington doesn't need an assistant town manager to get things done in five days.

And while you're voting in May and hopefully everyone will, throw a bullet vote for Michelle Loubert for library trustee.

Patrick Fennell, Great Barrington
