Letter: Balance lacking on Kerry remarks
To the editor of THE EAGLE:
The Associated Press’ front page feature article of the July 20 Eagle states that in a round of television interviews, including George Stephanopoulis’ "Sunday Morning," U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry responded to the hosts’ questions with facts of Russia’s certain complicity in the deliberate downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 by missile fire, savagely killing all innocent travelers on board. However, nowhere in Sunday’s issue was the first half of the interview mentioned regarding Kerry’s response to the brutal conflagration between Israel and Hamas, or the subsequent interview with Israel’s prime minister.
Unless there is a purpose to this selective coverage, please don’t insult the intelligence of readers who undoubtedly have other factual sources at their disposal. These interviews did more to lay out the origin and ongoing cruelty of this conflict by hate-filled and cynical extremists than anything printed in your paper thus far.
