Letter: Be heard on lake issue in Becket
To the editor of THE EAGLE:
Recently, multiple herbicides were placed in Buckley-Dunton Lake in Becket to eradicate indigenous, non-invasive lilly ponds. Diquat bromide, one of the toxic chemicals used, can be hazardous or even fatal to humans and animals if swallowed or inhaled. We heard that one dog has gotten sick after a romp in the lake.
If you want to voice your opinion about this issue, please attend the Becket Conser-
vation Committee Hearing on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Be part of the process and solution to keeping our lakes pristine and healthful for all.
