Letter: Becket benefit fun and successful

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

On Sunday, Aug. 10, Canterbury Farms sponsored a benefit concert called "Music in the Garden" on its beautiful grounds. The concert helped fund the Becket Food Pantry located at the Federated Church in North Becket. The entry fee was $20 to benefit the needy. Food and drinks were sold. What a great afternoon. There were about 150 people attending the event, all full of enthusiasm and warmth.

The entertainment was Dave Bacon at keyboard and his band, Lady Di and the Bobby Sweet Bsweet band. There were dancers from Dalton called the Dalton Kickers along with many couples and singles doing line dancing.

It felt good to be part of the small hilltown, doing a good deed for the needy of the town. I am from New Jersey, am a lover of classical music, but I just loved the country flavor of the afternoon. Thank you to the Bacons, Linda and Dave, for opening up their lovely grounds for the public good. It doesn’t get any better than that.

South Brunswick, N.J.
