Letter: Bernard will lead city into exciting future
As a life-long educator, I have come to recognize those rare individuals who have the character and ability to succeed in new and challenging situations. It is with pleasure that I am writing to offer enthusiastic support of Tom Bernard, candidate for mayor of North Adams.
I have had the good fortune to know Tom since the time he shared the North Adams Regional Hospital nursery with my daughter nearly 47 years ago. From then until now our paths have crossed many times, first in a school setting and currently as my neighbor and friend. Tom will be a leader and source of change with regards to the preparedness of our city as it enters into a new and exciting era of growth and development. He is hard working, perceptive, enthusiastic and eager to accept new challenges while remaining steadfastly committed to creating a collaborative and positive environment for everyone.
Throughout his life as an outstanding student in North Adams Schools and Williams College and in the workplace as assistant to the president of MCLA and Smith College, he has gained invaluable experience in management practices based on consultation and collaboration with constituents from a variety of perspectives. A lifelong learner, Tom has a demonstrated commitment to pursing work designed to complement his current and future responsibilities as a civic leader. More importantly he is organized, articulate, democratic and universally well-regarded by peers. With his boundless energy and a positive outlook, Tom's leadership and commitment to family values will be an asset to our community in countless ways.
I urge you to vote for Tom Bernard on Nov. 7. I know I will!
