Letter: Better ways to address illegal alien issue
Better ways to address illegal alien issue
To the editor:
The more I hear about Donald Trump's wall, the more I agree with Pope Francis on moral grounds that alone are enough to make the idea too detestable for my condoning.
We have the technology to electronically monitor unauthorized aliens (as defined by U.S. Code § 1324a) until they lead us to their employers or other sustainers. Rather than tie up the FBI, we can assign the tracking to the IRS. Any unauthorized alien caught on U.S. soil, regard to race, color, creed, national origin, gender, or preference thereof, gets an ankle transmitter which will remain in place until their income source is identified. The IRS can take it from there.
Where amnesty proves appropriate, I'm all for it — as long as the right people are paying the taxes.
Nappy Martin, Great Barrington
