Letter: Board candidate will lead Peru in new direction
Board candidate will lead Peru in new direction
To the editor:
I strongly urge my fellow citizens of Peru to vote for Bonny DiTomasso for Select Board this Saturday, June 11.
Peru's property tax rate ($20.15) has risen 24 percent in the last three years alone, and is now the second-highest property tax rate of all the 32 towns in Berkshire County. Clearly this trend needs to be reversed and Bonny has the fiscal responsibility, insights and determination to accomplish this.
Bonny has volunteered to serve in many town positions, including as alternate delegate in support of bringing a regional fiber-optic broadband network to Peru, which would assist educational, business and economic development. Bonny has been a strong advocate of this critically important initiative that was backed overwhelmingly at two town elections.
The town needs and deserves a new direction. Vote Saturday for Bonny DiTomasso.
