Letter: Boyle, Bartels bring experience, teamwork
Boyle, Bartels bring experience, teamwork
To the editor:
Dalton has an important election May 9 for two positions on the Select Board. In the interest of all facets of town management, as well as objective perusal of issues, Select Board Chairman John Bartels and Selectman John Boyle should be re-elected. With Town Manager Ken Walto, they are part of an excellent team that has steered our government effectively.
The current board has a favorable balance of experience and first-term members, shaping an atmosphere of political mixing and objective decision-making. The combined experience in Dalton government by Messrs. Bartels and Boyle, in addition to their loyalty, commitment, leadership and professionalism, is crucial to the Select Board and town.
They excel in listening first, assembling pertinent information, exercising patience as the decision process is shaped and always lean toward the best interests of their constituency. In all town and informal meetings, they have displayed a high degree of respect for order and diplomacy, even when the same has not been granted toward them by some who oppose a process and/or decision. When not agreeing with a decision they make, I always admire their attitude and respect for the other side of the issue.
It is in the best interests of Dalton to retain John Bartels and John Boyle as part of the leadership team at Dalton Town Hall.
Tom Callahan, Dalton
