Letter: Cardio rehab program a lifesaver
To the editor of THE EAGLE:
In the last few days there have been a couple of letters about South County rehab facilities, but I could not let time go by without describing the Berkshire Medical Center cardiac & pulmonary maintenance program in the Medical Arts building. This program was established in 1985 under the leadership of Anne Marie Sadlowski, R.N., Carol Nixon, exercise specialist, and Carol Robertson, R.N. (now retired).
I came into that program in 1986 after a heart attack, and I am convinced it was because of these women that I am alive today. After a six or seven year layoff, due to accidents and non-cardiac illness, I have returned to find a much enlarged program, with many more patients and staff. But I still receive the same attention to my needs and my welfare as in those early days.
I hope that anybody who can or should be using their services will contact Ms. Sadlowski. Your life may depend on it.
