Letter: Charter dispute a waste of time

The Pittsfield City Council is made up of our elected officials to represent the people of Pittsfield. For almost a month now Councilman Barry Clairmont has initiated his own personal agenda pertaining to charter objections. As this is a new charter with the initial use of this charter objection tool, I can understand the confusion, but to get into a time-consuming conflict with the rest of the council and the city solicitor Tuesday night was inappropriate.

The council is there to discuss the many important issues that concern the residents of Pittsfield and these types of lengthy disagreements are for another venue so as to not conflict with our important city business.
