Check out sculling, it's fun and healthy
To the editor:
Sculling on Onota Lake offers a free demonstration on Saturday, June 4, from 8 a.m. until noon. To try rowing, call 442-7769 to reserve a boat at the 8 a.m. or 10 a.m. session. To watch, just come. Inside the entrance to Onota Lake, across from Taconic High School on Valentine Road, turn right and follow signs to the north end of the beach.
Lessons are inexpensive and are held on evenings, weekends, and weekday mornings, early enough for scullers to get to work later. At that hour, the lake is calm and empty of other boats. Rentals are available, too. The Berkshire Rowing and Sculling Society (BRASS) website is berkshirerowing.com.
