Letter: Christmas spirit at Starbucks year-found

Christmas spirit at Starbucks year-round

To the editor:

The recent "Starbucks Holiday Cup" drama has got me a bit perplexed. I certainly don't find the cups offensive.

Never once have I needed a company's decorative holiday cup to remind me of the true spirit of Christmas. The true spirit of Christmas is giving.

As the commanding officer/pastor of the Salvation Army of Pittsfield, I make the daily trek to our local Starbucks to pick up a donation of baked goods that we use for our community breakfast feeding program.

We thank our local Starbucks for their spirit of giving not just during the holiday season, but throughout the whole year.

Capt. Elliott Higgins Pittsfield The writer is pastor/commanding officer, Pittsfield Corps of the Salvation Army.
