Letter: Comey's honest loyalty vs. Sessions' brand

To the editor:

With former FBI Director James Comey we got honesty loyalty — honesty with the facts and loyalty to our government and country. With Attorney General Jeff Sessions, we got loyalty — to the president. His telling of partial truths and withholding of the whole truth took the honesty out of his testimony before a Senate committee.

What he offered our country was a pretense of innocence made up in large part of ignorance and lack of accountability. Sessions' juvenile behavior would be unseemly in any adult. It is a travesty and a woeful shirking of duty in the highest raking guardian of our legal system at a time when our government and electoral process are under threat both from within and without.

Phoebe Williams,

West Stockbridge
