Letter: Cruelty to dogs, puppies

Cruelty to dogs, pups

To the editor:

There are many puppy mills in the U.S. and they treat puppies as if they were objects. They only give them enough food and water to survive, and sometimes not even that. Female dogs are bred every six months until they can't anymore and then they are killed.

Dogs and puppies are living things and shouldn't be treated this way. We must stoppuppy mills.

Gabrielle Mott, Lenox Fourth- and fifth-graders from the Berkshire Humane Society's Camp Humane submitted letters based on what they learned about puppy mills. The Eagle has run a recent sample.
