Letter: Dedicated CNAs deserve pay hike

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

It is National Nursing Assistant Week. As anyone who has a loved one living in an assisted living facility or nursing home knows, CNAs are the heart and soul because they provide the hands-on care.

The best way for any community to thank these wonderful, self-sacrificing employees is to raise their pay, currently below the poverty level for Berkshire County. Instead of talking about inequality, let's follow Seattle's example and raise our minimum wage to $15 an hour. In a market economy, we pay for what we value.
