Letter: Do art sale opponents have ulterior motives?

Posted
To the editor:

I may be developing paranoia over this controversy, but I am beginning to wonder if many of the people protesting the decisions made by the Berkshire Museum's board of trustees are hoping that this venerable and beloved institution will be allowed to go under. Then the board of trustees will have to dispose of all its collections.

At that point, these protesters or museums of which they are aficionados will be able to pick up desired items at the equivalent of a museum tag sale. Is this idea simply my paranoia or am I on to something?
