Letter: 'En plein air," everywhere
'En plein air,' everywhere
To the editor:
Many thanks to The Eagle for noting Oct. 5 that Olana is hosting its annual "En plein air" event on Saturday (Oct. 8.) Have you seen the plein air painters all summer? Many are members of the Richmond-West Stockbridge Artists Guild and can be seen at Hancock Shaker Village, the Rockwell Museum, the Mount, even downtown West Stockbridge, under a shady tree with an easel, a canvas and a myriad of equipment, with some painting on their iPads.
How would Monet have painted his water lilies in this modern high-tech era?
