Letter: Executions must be done properly
To the editor of THE EAGLE:
How is it, in this day and age, that we can successfully say goodbye to our beloved pets quietly, quickly and lovingly to do what’s best for them, but we can’t put down a convicted criminal without major problems? Who is in charge of portioning the meds? It almost seems like it’s done on purpose.
Whether you agree with the death penalty or not, it will be used from time to time. They should have the procedure checked, double-checked, and it should go smoothly for everyone concerned. I myself don’t feel sympathy for the convict, but in general this should be able to be done without complications.
