Letter: Feminist hypocrisy on abortion issue
Feminist hypocrisy on abortion issue
To the editor:
Definition of hypocrisy: A pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles that one does not really possess. Definition of ignorance: Lack of knowledge, education, or awareness. These are the words that came to mind after reading "Attitude toward women reveals all about Trump" (letter, Wednesday, Sept. 21).
In her book "My Life on the Road," Gloria Steinem is too shallow in her feminist views to consider or perceive one important detail, which is the most violent act that a human being can do to a woman is to pull life out of her, to put an end to the beating heart within her.
Ms. Steinem would do well to read the writings of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta: "Abortion is profoundly anti-women...We must not be surprised when we hear of murders, of killings, of wars, of hatred. If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for us to kill each other...Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want."
If Ms. Steinem does not respect the Christian view on abortion, or St. Mother Teresa, she will find the same stance if she Googles her own feminist sisters "Feminists for Life."
