Letter: From afar, American watches in dismay
From afar, American watches in dismay
To the editor:
As a long-time Pittsfield resident who is temporarily living in London and watching the U.S. news with fascination, I have to wonder what on earth has happened to the country that I love. The country with so much hope that it elected Obama to mold the future for generations.
As I watch about more race riots, shootings, political lunacy, I am in all honesty afraid to return home.
For those of you who never travel far and may not understand, American culture has global impact. What horrifies me even more about this global impact is for us to see Trump's behavior as acceptable from our potential leader. How on earth could we ever expect any reasonable behavior from any leader or country if Trump sets the standard?
With Trump as president how long would it be before we would be building a wall between us and Canada!
