Letter: Get lovable dog at Love-A-Bull
To the editor of THE EAGLE:
It was with great pleasure that I read Dorothy van den Honert’s Saturday op-ed "Can dogs love us back?". The unconditional love that a dog offers must be experienced.
Having had many dogs over the years I can attest to all the behaviors cited in the article. Volunteering at the Berkshire Humane Society for many years I have seen, first hand, the bond between dogs and their owners. Rescue dogs are especially responsive to caring adopters.
At BHS this month, we are having a special event, Love-A-Bull. Pitbulls as surrender dogs are often overlooked. They are lovable, socialized and loyal family pets, but because of negative attitudes towards them they have a lot to overcome when it comes to adoption.
We have several wonderful pitbulls at BHS, carefully screened, both physically and temperamentally, just waiting to be adopted. Come in and meet your next best friend, a pitbull mix.
