Letter: Give quality films a screening in city

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

I want to thank the Little Cinema for bringing "All is Lost" to Pittsfield. I am hoping in the future it can provide the missing link between the movies that are now being nominated for awards and those being shown locally. The Redford film and "Philomena," among many others, came and went in Great Barrington, but never made it to Pittsfield.

I have just had the pleasure of seeing "Nebraska." There are no car chase scenes or graphic sex, though there is a fair amount of salty language. I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s a gem, even if it is shot in simple black and white. The film is now playing at the Triplex and I’m writing to ask if it can have a larger audience in Pittsfield before it, too, disappears.

I know this has been said before, but there are more people interested in watching movies here than 17-24 year olds.
