Letter: Help farm animals, and domestic ones, too
Help farm animals and domestic ones, too
To the editor:
I was thinking of writing a letter to the editor about the farm animals who desperately need your vote on a proposed November ballot referendum question so that they may "eventually" live under conditions where they can extend their legs and turn around. I know, unbelievable, but this isn't often the case if you are a calf raised for veal, a hen that lays eggs, or a pig that is breeding. If you haven't already, please sign a petition to put this initiative on the ballot in November.
On a recent evening, I was at the Humane Society with a friend who was looking at their adorable kittens. I do hope she adopts two!
As we left, we walked by the dogs. Every single one looked out longingly, some barking frantically, "Please take me home with you. I have so much love to give."
Each one was so different, but they were all completely beautiful, and all were waiting for their perfect match. A person, a family, who will love them and give them a home will get so much more in return.
