Letter: Help give local teens a merry Christmas

Help give local teens a merry Christmas

To the editor:

The staff at The Christian Center extends heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support for our Thanksgiving program. In a few short days, the community donated over 100 turkeys, nearly 5,000 pounds of food and made many generous monetary donations. These gifts of love assured that everyone in our community who needed a Thanksgiving meal received one. The demonstration of support from the community truly humbled us all and we cannot thank you enough.

Over the next few weeks, The Christian Center will be hard at work finding sponsors for our holiday teen angel program. We are hoping that with your help we will make this year the best ever. In collaboration with the Salvation Army, we attempt to ensure that every child and teen in the community has a happy holiday. The Christian Center is reaching out to you for help in order to fulfill Christmas wishes for over 200 teens. If you would like to sponsor a teen or make a monetary donation, please either stop in at The Christian Center at 193 Robbins Ave., or give us a call at 413-443-2828.

Once again, the staff, volunteers and I would like to thank you for your continued support as we work together to bring smiles and good cheer to our neighbors.

Ellen Merritt, Pittsfield The writer is executive director of the Christian Center.
