Letter: Honoring caregivers who help in the home

Honoring caregivers who help in the home

To the editor:

The month of November is an opportunity for us to consider the many agencies in our county that assist and support individuals within the confines of their own homes.

We are fortunate in the Berkshires to have so many wonderful agencies that can provide a diverse range of services to these individuals. These caregivers comfort the dying, befriend the lonely, strengthen the weak and brighten the darkest of days for many. Those on the receiving end know firsthand the difference these caregivers make in their day to day lives.

Home has meaning to all of us. For most it is where our fondest memories lie and where we feel most comfortable. It is a privilege to be invited into someone's home to help them maintain their independence and dignity. As home care providers we value the trust placed in us.

Thank you to our clients, their families, and all our dedicated caregivers.
