Letter: Honoring local staffers during Library Week
Honoring local staffers during Library Week
To the editor:
This is National Library Week with the theme, Libraries Transform.
During this week (April 10 to 16) we are celebrating our Berkshire Athenaeum and its professional and volunteer staff in performing their wonderful work helping our patrons develop their better selves. Ever helpful, we recognize the kind assistance provided by library staff to our community members in their transformative processes, providing free access to technology, digital literacy assistance, career development resources, access to a wide range of important materials and countless other acts of service.
Also, in Pittsfield this year, we will embrace a significant library transformation from the leadership of the adored Ron Latham to the ebullient Alex Reczkowski. The athenaeum trustees would like to thank our community members and library staff for their assistance during our athenaeum director selection process.
We wish to recognize athenaeum staff members for their vitally important service to our community. Without their exemplary professional efforts the athenaeum would not shine, as it does so brilliantly in the heart of Pittsfield.
