Letter: Impressed by care at BMC
To the editor of THE EAGLE:
I would like to echo Sue Meckes’ July 12 letter "Good experience with local care" as I had a knee replaced in January with excellent results. The whole process from my first meeting with my "local" orthopedic surgeon through the pre-op meetings and training, the surgery, the hospital care and home care follow-up was excellent. All this happened only 10 minutes from my home.
BMC has adopted a "pain-free" program to help properly manage post-operative pain. This program just being adopted in some of the major hospitals in Germany carefully monitors the amount and types of pain medication which is in the best long-term interest of the patient.
For top medical treatment there is no need to leave Pittsfield.
