Independent Sullivan is best choice for Hinsdale

To the editor:

Hinsdale's town elections will be held this Saturday, May 21, at Town Hall. We urge voters to consider voting for James Sullivan for Select Board.

Mr. Sullivan has been passionately involved in town government for as long as we've known him and has a sincere desire to do what is right for the citizens of Hinsdale. He has no preconceived agenda and no allegiance to one side or the other. He simply wants to do what he believes to be the wishes of the people.

Mr. Sullivan has shown the townspeople, through his actions as town moderator, that he is fair and willing to allow both sides of any argument to be heard. As a member of the roads committee, Mr. Sullivan has shown a great desire to seek information and a determination to solve the multitude of problems that exist with the town's roadways. He has regularly attended Select Board and Finance Committee meetings, which affords him a vast amount of background knowledge as the town moves forward.

Hinsdale is facing serious issues and we need a serious person to continue resolving them, not another "yes man" to the usual group of existing leaders. Hinsdale needs balance and differing opinions on all boards, not the same old group of like-minded individuals. Mr. Sullivan will challenge, question and find the truth by getting both sides to uncover the whole story and not just follow a path simply because "this is how it's always been done."

Being willing to seek the truth and stand behind it, follow the will of the people and do what is right and best for the town, both morally and financially, makes James Sullivan the best candidate to lead Hinsdale into the future. Let's keep the positive momentum moving in the right direction. We ask you to do what is in the best interest of Hinsdale and vote for James Sullivan for Select Board on Saturday.

Bruce and Angela Stetson, Hinsdale
