Letter: It's up to all of us to advance solar energy
It's up to all of us to advance solar energy
To the editor:
I write regarding The Eagle article of Jan. 17 entitled "Will 2016 be bright for solar in Mass.?" I understand the House-Senate Conference Committee will soon be making decisions which will either promote or discourage the growth of solar energy in Massachusetts.,
Ironically, I have read that in the Netherlands they are pleasantly surprised with results from the installation of energy-generating solar road surfaces. Don't we wish to be part of the solution and not the problem, too?
I encourage all who feel similarly to contact Gov. Baker, our senators and representatives. Ask them to:
* Raise or eliminate the caps on solar generation.
* Maintain the solar renewable energy credits.
* Insure a level of compensation for net metering that will keep solar energy a viable alternative.
The future of Massachusetts, in so many ways, will be determined by these decisions. Please add your voice!
