Letter: Kerry knows peace is superior to war
Kerry knows peace is superior to war
To the editor:
The Eagle sure got John Kerry's position correct in its Sunday editorial ("Unlike critics, Vietnam veteran Kerry made impact," May 1).
I was of Vietnam War draft-bait age and lived the daily anxiety of getting sent there. Kerry was more honorable than me — he actually put on the uniform while I avoided the whole thing — and Mr. Kerry has since been steadfast in war avoidance when possible.
Even a draft-dodger like Trump seems to have read the memo — peace is superior to war and needless interventions and death and injury.
