Letter: Lenox students right about 'Millionaires' nickname

Lenox students right about 'Millionaires'

To the editor:

We applaud the students at Lenox Memorial Middle and High School who came out strongly against the school's continuing use of the moniker/mascot "The Millionaires." Its use does sound offensive. It is out of touch in the world we find ourselves in today.

That School Committee Chair Robert Vaughn, and seemingly the entire committee, are resistant to dropping the name shows them to be tone-deaf.

Mark and Jennifer Shapp, Lenox
