Letter: Lions: Bring in an animal-free circus

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

I assume Andre Robert is a good citizen, and totally unaware of what he is really saying. ("Dalton benefits from circus," letter to the editor, July 26). He is saying that the citizens of Dalton are eager to make a buck on the backs of poor helpless animals enduring a cruel, and ghastly existence in a traveling circus! This is the type of "entertainment" that has been banned in many countries.

I am really hoping that next year the Lions Club raises money for its excellent work by hiring a circus that entertains us with the skills and talents of humankind alone. It will be an exciting, breathtaking show, to which I will be looking forward to buying a number of tickets!
