Letter: Make voice heard Monday on clean energy, climate

To the editor:

How do you think the Massachusetts Legislature should keep our state healthy, sustainable and strong? The state Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change is hosting hearings throughout the commonwealth to get input on "pressing issues in clean energy and climate." The Berkshire stop is this Monday, June 19, at 6 p.m. at Berkshire Community College.

This is our chance to show our elected representatives (and not just the Berkshire ones) that we don't want any more build-out of high pressure gas pipelines and we do want bold action to encourage more clean, renewable energy development, and create the jobs associated with this growing industry. In the absence of our participation, the utility companies control the conversation plain and simple; and they want more gas pipelines.

If you can, please make time to show up at this important event. Even if you don't choose to speak, your presence matters.

Cheryl Rose,
