Letter: Many made book sale a success for library

Many made book sale a success for library

To the editor:

On Sept. 23 and 24, Friends of the North Adams Public Library held the annual book sale, a community event that surpassed last year's fund-raising.

We would like to thank the city of North Adams, especially Mike Cirullo and Nick Berasi, as well as the trial court community service program supervised by Shawn Wright, for their help in transporting the books. For helping with publicity, a big thanks to the North Adams Chamber of Commerce, the Office of Tourism, Library Director Mindy Hackner and her staff and all who used social media to spread the word. A special thanks to all those who donated books, baked and helped at the sale, as well as our customers. We must also include our dedicated workers who cleaned, sorted, packed, moved, set up and dismantled the sale. It is a tremendous year-long job to coordinate and put this event together.

All proceeds will help improve the library and provide programming. We look forward to seeing all of you next year and hope you'll donate books starting in the spring of 2017.
