Letter: Media bias clear in Gaza coverage

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

Ever wonder why all you see on TV coverage of the Gaza conflict are wounded women and children from Gaza being taken to hospitals? One never sees pictures of Hamas personnel with their weapons or firing off any of the thousands of rockets they have launched at Israeli towns and cities.

A Spanish journalist who returned from Gaza was asked whether he saw Hamas personnel with guns. He said "Sure, they were everywhere but if we took pictures of them they would shoot us."

Whatever is reported is always biased in some way. The only question is whether we are aware or made aware of what the bias is and what we didn't get to see for whatever reason.
