Milne Library book sale a success thanks to many

To the editor:

Eight months of planning and sorting, countless donations of quality used books and thousands of volunteer hours added up to two successful days at the Friends of Milne Public Library Used Book Sale this month.

The Friends would like to thank each of the patrons who supported the April 22 and 23 sale at Williamstown Elementary School. The money raised will continue to support staff development, materials acquisition and important programs at the library.

The Friends Board and Book Sale Committee extend a special thank you to the many community partners who donated either money or in-kind services to help stage the book sale. A full list is available on our website, milnelibraryfriends.org.

However, special recognition needs to go to the elementary school and to Williams College, and, in particular, the college's football and cross country teams, who provided much needed volunteer labor the week of the sale.

Most importantly, we thank the dozens of dedicated volunteers who work throughout the year and especially the week of the sale to make this event possible.

Stephen Dravis, Williamstown The letter writer is president, Friends of Milne Public Library.
