Letter: Neighborhood thankful for city firefighters
Neighborhood thankful for city firefighters
To the editor:
I want to publicly thank the Pittsfield Fire Department for its calming, professional actions in managing the fire on Boylston Street in Pittsfield early last Sunday morning, July 31. As a unit they could not have been more conscientious or thorough. The fire was reported about 1:30 a.m. and there were members still there past midday. I was exhausted and all I did was watch. I can't imagine how they do their jobs at that level on a daily basis, but they do. We are fortunate to have those men and women who protect us.
No adjacent properties were harmed. I didn't know until the article last Monday that there were two firemen injured. I wish them healing, and to the entire department a thank you from a grateful neighborhood.
Constance Bullard, Pittsfield
