Letter: Obama's bad call on nuclear plants

To the Editor of THE EAGLE:

I’m writing to express my disappointment with the news that President Obama has given approval for $6.5 billion in loan guarantees for a project to build two new commercial nuclear reactors.

Since no one has come up with how to destroy nuclear waste as yet, or where to store it safely, this project should not be considered. Think Fukushima, think Three Mile Island.

The government’s decision to underwrite this project in Georgia is a bad and dangerous one.
