Letter: Oscar films provided a welcome relief

Oscar films provided a welcome relief

To the editor:

My thanks to film critic Bill Everhart for his annual Oscar predictions (Feb. 26). We agree on his pick of "Spotlight" as best picture and his that wish Stanley Tucci had been nominated too.

And even more thanks to TV channel Turner Movie Classics (TCM) for screening past Oscar winners (possibly my favorite "King Solomon's Mine" at 6:30 am, Thursday) 24/7 all this month. What a God-send from all those political debates (Mainly the GOP). Is this really America?
