Letter: Participate in special peace and healing service

Participate in special peace and healing service

To the editor:

We at Second Congregational Church are concerned about what is happening to our nation with the discord between the community and the police department. We wish to invite you to be a part of a special peace and healing service to be held on Sunday, July 31, at 3 p.m. at our church located at 50 Onota Street in Pittsfield.

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them, intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 1 Timothy 2:1-3.

If there are any questions, please call 413-499-8893 and ask for Assistant Moderator Ramonia Higgingbotham, or call 413-329-3745 and ask for Roselle Holah.

Ramonia Higgingbotham, Pittsfield The writer is assistant moderator, Second Congregational Church.
