Letter: Rewards of music and Music School

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

The Music School of Pittsfield held an open house the weekend of April 6-7 in which the students were asked to give a short recital to show what they had learned. If you were there you witnessed two local treasures, the school itself and its director, Tracy Wilson. Musician, administrator and mentor to its student body, Tracy is rare indeed, a local treasure.

I suggest to all who missed this event, catch it next time. The rewards are great and, parents should remember that while learning this third language (music), your son and daughter are too busy to bother with mischief. Kids, the youngster who can play a musical instrument is always the most popular guy or gal in a group.
